These girls and their mom and dad were visiting from Kentucky at Blue Mountain Beach...we had a great time and a great sunset!!!!

Kites on Okaloosa Island

Just happened to be driving down Okaloosa Island on Saturday and saw all these huge kite flying. I had to stop and see what was going on...Barry and Karen Ogletree of www.whatakite.com had their kites flying...They travel all over the place and fly the kites--mostly for non-profit organizations--and they told me that they have over $100,000 worth of kites. They say they are "a family that loves to fly really big kites.' They started flying kites 28 years ago...

Family Reunion

Way down upon the Suwannee River

I never really knew there was a Suwannee River...always heard that song growing up...maybe it's a Southern thing!!! "Way down upon the suwannee river, far, far away..."

But, on a recent trip back from Jacksonville, I just had to check it out! It was a really beautiful site to see...so if you are traveling I-10 west from Jacksonville, maybe take a stop...
