Beach today

Went out to the beach on Okaloosa Island today, as I have been every day, just to let out-of-town followers see what it's really like here on the Emerald Coast. Don't believe what the national media makes it out to be!

Beautiful water....no oil...no oil smell...no tar balls. Enough said!

Destin beaches today

My husband and I walked the beaches of Okaloosa County this evening, about 7 p.m.

Yes, we did see tar balls, but they will be picked up by morning by BP crews. Quite frankly, it doesn't look as bad as when the seaweed washes ashore in clumps. And by the way, there was no oil smell, and there were people in the water and no oil sheen. I am planning to go to the beach tomorrow and catch some rays!
