Sept. 12, pre-Ike

Well, my favorite piece of driftwood for families to pose on is now down..:(

Hurricane Ike, which is far, far west of us, has sent strong waves our way...this driftwood--which I have used for years to pose with families--had roots about six feet deep. Here you will see a before and after picture.

Let us never forget!!!

Even though Hurricane Ike is to hit landfall far west of us...we are experiencing high winds and extreme waves--15 feet-- in Okaloosa County...Okaloosa Island, between Destin and Fort Walton Beach, was closed this morning due to flooding.  Must be a powerful storm for us to get these waves.

Here are some of the sights on the beach where I usually shoot, post Gustav. You can see the driftwood where you families pose has changed in appearance! No one can get on it now because the roots are so exposed. That's happened before and the sand will come back over time so we can use it again for pictures! Then, there's another large piece of driftwood a bit farther down the beach (west) that has appeared since the storm that will make a nice posing spot. Please keep in mind I took these images with my Blackberry!

Well, these pictures show the aftermaths of Gustav at about noon today...so thank the Lord that our prayers were answered and we were protected!

Hurricane Gustav

Hi everyone!!

Just wanted to let you know what was happening on the Emerald Coast today....from about 4 p.m. until 5 p.m., we ventured out to see what was going on in the water...there were kiteboarders on the bay, and surfers on the Gulf...take a look!!

Well, we are getting ready for Tropical Storm Fay to cross our paths, with wind and showers, but in the meantime, take a look at some cute pictures from a couple of days ago!

What a wonderful day...even with the rain!  I was just working on print orders today and worshipping the Lord as I listened to the latest CD of Trent Cory...he was just at our church--Destin Assembly of God--last week--and he and his team ministered to us with  beautiful music...check out trentcory.com.

And, if you're wondering about Tropical Storm Fay, well we aren't getting any weather from it...I'll be out on the beach for a family portrait session this evening.
